TREATMENT: Platelet Rich Plasma
DURATION: 20 MINUTES
TYPE: OUTPATIENT
PAIN: NEGLIGIBLE
SUN: VA AVOIDED FOR 2-3 DAYS AFTER TREATMENT
The Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a concentrate of autologous platelets suspended in a small amount of plasma after centrifugation of the blood of the patient. In recent years there have been increasingly developed and explored the studies on growth factors.
The new findings and knowledge of the importance and role of these factors has created a growing interest in their possible therapeutic use. The term "growth factor" refers to proteins capable of stimulating the proliferation and cell differentiation. The Platelet-Rich Plasma, plasma enriched in platelets commonly indicated by the acronym PRP, is a product derived from blood studied for many years in various branches of medicine, whose rational use lies in the fact that the plates, which is rich PRP, releasing several substances that promote tissue repair and affect the behavior of other cells by modulating inflammation and the formation of new blood vessels.
The preparation of PRP consists in the venous blood sampling autologous (ie, the patient) which is subsequently subjected to two-fold centrifugation and concentrated. The regenerative properties of PRP have been harnessed in aesthetic medicine with three basic purposes:
- Regeneration and rejuvenation of the skin of the face, neck, hands
- Treatment and biostimulation of scars and stretch marks
- Supportive therapy in hair loss
The results are extremely surprising and improves the effectiveness with repeated applications even at a distance of a few months. Each patient will undergo a series of treatments customized according to the problem being treated.
